Berkshire Camino
Mindy Miraglia was inspired to start her Pittsfield-based walking tour company, Berkshire Camino, after twice traversing the 500-mile Camino de Santiago, a town-to-town pilgrimage with medieval origins that attracts thousands of visitors to Spain each year.
A Berkshires native, Miraglia has used her intimate knowledge of the region to curate over a dozen original routes, infusing the mindful and narrative traditions of the Spanish Camino with quintessential Berkshires sights. In addition to shorter day hikes ranging from two-and-a-half to five hours that hit everything from main street sidewalks to the lush grounds of institutions like Edith Wharton’s The Mount to more challenging natural wonders like the Appalachian Trail and Yokun Ridge, this year Miraglia debuted multi-day hikes with lodging and most meals included to create an authentic and accessible pilgrimage experience right in our own backyard.
