Kent Memorial Library Grows Its Future On A School Farm
The Kent Memorial Library held the annual gala and fundraiser, “Growing Our Future” at the South Kent School Farm on Saturday, June 23. Attendees enjoyed a sumptuous offering of hearty and healthy food prepared by an all-volunteer team under the watchful eye of retired caterer, Patsy Stroble. She and her team enjoyed the elegant teaching kitchen installed at the South Kent School Farm, and the gala patrons reaped the benefits. A virtuoso country trio, The Carlsons, supplied the music for the evening with a laid-back style that seemed the perfect counterpoint to a gentle evening. Library Director Sarah Marshall, her attentive staff, Kent Library Association Co-President Jim Blackketter, his fellow board members and an enthusiastic group of volunteers all ensured that the attendees not only had a grand time, but were encouraged to bid on the auction items. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Kent Memorial Library, its programs, lectures, materials and operations.
