Advertise with Rural Intelligence

Rural Intelligence provides a carefully curated, lively guide to the best of this culturally rich region. It’s like having a best friend with great taste, insatiable curiosity and a continuing delight in all our corner of the world offers. “

—Megan Whilden, Former Executive Director, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Berkshire Community College

The Hillsdale Historic House Tour was a big success. We capped ticket sales at 375, far above expectations, but could have sold many more. Many people told us they had found out about the tour by reading the article about it in Rural Intelligence. Thank you so very much for the excellent coverage… on the web site, in two of your e-newsletters and on Robin Hood Radio. It definitely made a big difference in our sales.

-Meg Wormley, Hillsdale Historic House Tour Committee

Your Customers

Your message can be delivered directly to our readers’ email inboxes via our two different e-newsletters:
  • RI Recommends is sent to subscribers on Tuesdays and features our top picks of weekend activities.
  • The Thursday newsletter is sent to subscribers on Thursdays and informs about updated stories on the website.

There is just one ad space on each newsletters - a banner - for $275/week or $1,000 for four consecutive weeks (a $100 savings). For campaigns running 12 consecutive weeks, an additional 5% off of the already-reduced price will be applied (a savings of $450).

This one ad space provides premium exposure and is an excellent opportunity to promote special events, performances, sales, dining offers, etc.

Discounts are offered for advertisers who make extended commitments and pay, at least, quarterly: 3-5 months 5%; 6-8 months 10%; 9-10 months 15%; 12 months 20%.

More than one ad qualifies for a multi-ad discount, which gives an additional 10% off the lower-priced ad.

Rural Intelligence bills advertisers and receives payment for ads through PayPal.

Why advertise in Rural Intelligence?

Launched in 2008, Rural Intelligence, at last count, drew more than 130,000 visits to the site each month. Well over 6,500 subscribers receive the highly anticipated Thursday update e-mail newsletters, and over 4,000 subscribers receive the Tuesday calendar listings newsletter, “RI Recommends.” Facebook “likes” number around 5,750 and grow every day. We post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest consistently.

Rural Intelligence readers want to know what’s going on beyond their own county borders. We’re proud of the bridge between communities and the word on the region’s cyber street. Our web site is a must read for the very audience advertisers seek — the most inquisitive, tuned in and active people in our communities, in search of culturally rich ruralism. Every link that takes the consumer straight to your website, gives advertisers a strategic opportunity to connect with a well educated consumer audience who appreciates high standards and enjoys fine service and craft.

But perhaps the best reason to join Rural Intelligence is the company you will keep. Ads for the Fisher Center, Jacob’s Pillow, Berkshire Theater Group, ‘62 Dance Center, Warner Theater, Art Omi and other great cultural institutions that have earned this region the sobriquet “Cultural Corridor” throw a flattering light on the ads that surround them. (As does our coverage of the region’s finest social events and the movers and shakers who attend them.)

But perhaps the best reason for advertisers to join Rural Intelligence is the company they will keep. Beyond that, what draws the top institutions and businesses, from our most savvy realtors to the most successful style setters, to Rural Intelligence and keeps them there is the editorial content. We don’t like to blow our own horn, but we don’t mind if others do: please read, What Folks Are Saying About Us. We invite you to join the ranks of those who have found that advertising on Rural Intelligence has measurable and lasting benefits. Rural Intelligence unites and celebrates residents of CT, MA & NY who live in Berkshire, Columbia, Dutchess and Litchfield counties.
