“Sacred Site” Meets Annual Tradition At Olana’s Summer Party
After a two-year break, The Olana Partnership at Olana State Historic Site in Hudson reinstated its annual summer party on Saturday, July 23, inviting the site’s closest friends and supporters to celebrate another successful year of environmental and historic conservation. This year’s festivities honored Frederic Church with an exhibition of paintings titled “Sacred Site” by artist Diana Wege, set amidst views of mountains to the northeast. The 12-work collection replicates Church’s famous oil paintings of Niagara Falls, which along with “Public Parks” was the designated theme of this year’s party. Guests enjoyed a viewing of the art among the picturesque views of Mt. Merino, the City of Hudson and beyond to Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont along with food and drink from local vendors. Wege’s installation can be viewed by Olana visitors until October 31.
