Vanderbilt Mansion The Frederick W. Vanderbilt Garden Association will hold its Memorial Day weekend plant sale, where hundreds of plants will be sold at reasonable prices, including a variety of perennial plant divisions from the Vanderbilt Formal Gardens. This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the not-for-profit Association, which raises all funds to rehabilitate, plant and maintain the Formal Gardens. Rain or shine, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Country Living Fair Great shopping, seminars and demonstrations, food, live music and a chance to meet the editors of Country Living Magazine. Dutchess County Fairgrounds, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

Books and Blooms The Cornwall Library’s annual benefit event will include the lecture “Kitchen Garden Design: The Art of Growing Food” by Ellen Ecker Ogden on Friday at 6 p.m., which will be followed by a cocktail reception and a silent auction. Tours of five gardens in Cornwall run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, as does the Library’s sale of new and out-of-print gardening books.
