IS 183 Art School Stokes the Appetite for Midsummer Soul

Stonover Farm overflowed with artists, their supporters, and party people on Friday, July 13, for Soul Appetite, a gallery opening and dinner/dance party to benefit IS 183 Art School of the Berkshires. Board member Nancy Kalodner and founding chair Lucy Holland (left) beamed with pride at the night’s abundant and enthusiastic turnout. Guests began the night mingling and perusing work in all media by over 20 artists displayed throughout Stonover Farm’s barn-turned-gallery; purchases supported the art school’s programs. The reception was followed by an informal barbecue dinner on the verdant hill behind the barn. The steamy evening concluded with a tropical-themed dance party, energized by new arrivals who flooded the dance floor, where the festive mood was enhanced by lively projections by artist Joe Wheaton.
Elyn Rosenthal and participating artist Barry Rosenthal with Vicki Passman, and Debbie Melamed; Rachel Budin, Terry Wise, and Ingrid MacGillis.
Jacob’s Pillow board member Hunter Runnette with IS 183 coordinator of residencies Dina Noto; Philip Bukowski and Jeanne Rothman.
Rick Levin with Rich and Amy Pollack; IS 183 interns Marco DiSilva, Kasha Cooper, and Tom O’Brien.
Wall-to-wall projections by artist Joe Wheaton created a lively environment for the dance party.
