Paintings and Jewelry: Double Art Opening at Neumann Fine Art
Jamie Larson reports from Hillsdale. Paintings so realistic they play tricks on the eye and jewelry that is intricate yet inspired by nature and movement were highlighted at a double reception Saturday, November 30 at Neumann Fine Art in Hillsdale. The inconspicuous gallery was packed with locals and guests from across the Rural Intelligence region. The paintings, depicting scenes of Tivoli, New York, were the work of Joel Griffith, who has been called “a high priest in the cult of The Real” for his hyper-realistic renderings. The jewelry collection, notable for its clean lines and intricate metal work, was the creation of Anni Maliki. The show, which will run through January, is an exhibition in the two very different artists’ mastery of fine detail. Pictured at left are artist Joel Griffith and Gallery owner Jeffrey Neumann.
