Columbia Land Conservancy’s Mid-Summer Soiree
Silka Glanzman reports from Germantown.
With panoramic views of the Hudson to the west and the stunning Midwood Estate to the east, delighted locavores and land conservation advocates sat down for the Columbia Land Conservancy’s Mid-Summer Soiree on Sunday, August 19. Hosted by Midwood’s owner, Joan Davidson (at left with CLC Executive Director Peter R. Paden), the 60-seat banquet was graciously catered by the Chefs Consortium, with Chefs Rebecca Joyner and Liz Beal at the helm. Columbia County’s Kinderhook Farm, Coach Farm, and Herondale Farm were among the producers featured on the menu – many of which benefit from the protection of the CLC. Guests lingered long after the meal ended, enjoying the sounds of the Chatham Chamber Ensemble and sipping New York State sparkling wine and Clinton Vineyards cassis.
