Sing Out, Sing Loud! Lenox Caroling Festival Gala Reception
Rachel Louchen reports from Lenox.
The second annual Lenox Caroling Festival began with a very appropriate event: performances by some of the eight groups attending the festival within the coming days. Held at Ventfort Hall on Friday, December 7, the night before the start of the festival, The Cape Chorale of Delaware performed Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” while the MCLA Allegrettos put a spin on the traditional “Twelve Days of Christmas” with dance moves and funny voices. The weekend-long festival of sound showcased vocal performances as well as the town itself, with venues spread throughout the historic village, perfect for those who want to deck the halls while enjoying (or not enjoying) a little Christmas shopping. Tucker Aufranc with wife, Terry Aufranc and festival volunteer, Joanna Stengle; Mary Grant, Jen Craig, and Emily Schiavoni came out to support their students.
Long time festival attendees Dr.Michael Kaplan with wife, Alice Kaplan; Birgit Vetromile, Tjasa Sprague, and Debbie Smith, all Lenox residents.
MCLA Allegrettos began and ended the night with performances.
Faith Rich and Joan Yogg; Dan Kasper and wife, Sherry Kasper of West Stockbridge with friend, Jo Anne Walters.
Cyral Sheldon and husband, Richard Sheldon of Lenox; MCLA’s Jim Canavan and Rebekah Wise.
