Bridges To Somewhere: A Celebrity Decorator’s Book Signing at FINCH
Dale Stewart reports from Hudson.
On Saturday, October 12, Hudson, NY’s cup runneth over with art openings, musical performances, and book signings. The standout was the standing-room-only crowd packed into the well-styled corners of FINCH to listen to world-renowned designer Sheila Bridges (pictured left with Penelope Queen) discuss her memoir, The Bald Mermaid, which was published in 2013 and chronicles her childhood, thriving career, and diagnosis of alopecia. Bridges’ name constantly graces shelter mags’ top-designers lists, and her high-end client roster reads more like a wish list, with clients like former President Bill Clinton. She also sells her own Harlem Toile line of fabric, plates, and bedding. Bridges has been much praised by The New York Times, has a fan in Oprah, and was named “America’s Best Interior Designer” by CNN and Time Magazine.
Author designer Sheila Bridges is flanked by Finch’s Andrew Arrick and Michael Hofemann.
