Construct Annual Walk for the Homeless
Rachel Louchen reports from Great Barrington. On Sunday, October 21st, hundreds gathered at Ski Butternut to walk 3.5 to miles to Construct headquarters in Great Barrington. Since the 1960s, Construct has continued to provide food and shelter, as well as adult education and counseling, to homeless individuals in Southern Berkshire County. The proceeds from this year’s 24th annual walk will go towards constructing an addition for the foundation’s Mahaiwe Street headquarters. Pricilla’s Room will hold a space for seminars and workshops, as well as an office and computer center for the shelter’s residents. According to longtime walk volunteers, the turn out this year was absolutely inspiring. And those who could not participate in the walk donated time or money with sponsorship from many local businesses such as Guido’s and Kwik Print, to name a few.

Hundreds gathered on a perfect fall day to support those in need of food, shelter, and emergency assistance.
