Keeping Time by Sunlight at Berkshire Botanical Garden
Samara DiMouro reports from Stockbridge.
The sun exhibited perfect timing on Saturday evening, June 23, shining brilliantly as the Berkshire Botanical Garden held its opening reception for Garden Time: Objects Employing the Sun. Artist/curators Greg and Natalie Randall, owners of R.T. Facts in Kent, had strategically and artfully positioned ten antique and newly constructed sundials, armillaries, and spheres built to tell time utilizing sunlight throughout the gardens, which guests explored, hors d’oeuvres and spritzers in hand, as Natalie led a tour and provided an explanation of the creative process from construction to placement. The sundials will remain on display in the gardens through October 15.
