Sixth Annual Funk & Blues Festival at MCLA

Friday, February 6 @ 7:30 p.m.

Dance your way out of cabin fever when Papa Grows Funk arrives to bring the heat of Crescent City to our snowbound region. This New Orleans band features an all-star line-up, anchored by the slinky, growling Hammond B3 groves of band leader John Gros. Influenced by Dr. John, the Meters and the Neville Brothers, Papa Grows Funk stretches the boundaries of Big Easy music, with tight beats and loose, jazzy improvisations that are sure to have you shaking your hips and shuffling your feet. Blues master Benny Turner joins the band for this special appearance.
