Rennie Harris Puremovement at the Mahaiwe

Friday, February 18 @ 8 p.m.

Performances by Philadelphia’s Rennie Harris Puremovement heat things up in the Berkshires whenever the hip-hop dance troupe takes the stage at Jacob’s Pillow’s summer dance festival. Just think of the impact they’ll have with this midwinter show in Great Barrington; don’t be surprised if they precipitate this week’s second thaw. Approaching its 20th anniversary, RHPM has emerged as the international ambassador of hip-hop dance and a cultural force, spearheading its hometown’s Illadleph, the longest-running festival dedicated to hip-hop music and dance. These dancers doesn’t just bust a move; they’‘ll challenge your conception of the hip-hop dance medium, which has risen from the meanest streets to the most vaunted stages.
