Red Molly with Newfound Road at Infinity Hall

Sunday, November 21 @ 8 p.m.

Just this summer, two founding members of the roosty/bluegrassy Americana trio Red Molly—Laurie MacAllister (bass, banjo) and Abbie Gardner (Dobro, guitar)—welcomed the fortuitously named singer/songwriter Molly Venter into their fold. It’s the first change in line-up since the group formed during the nearby Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in 2004. (The other original member, Carolann Solebello, left in August.) Each member has impressive solo credentials, but they harmonize like misguided angels. Their latest (and second) release, James, a self-produced mix of covers and originals has been a critical success. Opening bluegrass foursome Newfound Road adds a bit of testosterone into the evening.
