Open Wings - Broken Strings at The Colonial

Friday, October 22 @ 8 p.m.

Take a breath; this one takes some explaining.Three artists from bands on the forefront of the music scene are taking time out of their primary gigs to give audiences another perspective on the songs they love. In this stripped, down, acoustic evening, these rock stars step away from behind their dramatic personae to give their fans intimate access to the essence of their work. Open Strings -Broken Strings is the brainchild of Eddie Kowalczyk, lead singer/front man/guitarist of the band LIVE, one of the most successful and enduring alternative rock bands of the turn of the latest century, which is currently on hiatus. He is joined by Art Alexakis of Everclear and Leigh Nash, the angelic-voiced lead singer of pop group Sixpence None the Richer. After each performance of this tour, the performers are donating their guitar strings to an organization that turns them into jewelry for sale, with the proceeds going to charity.
